Mega-bitch

You know, strange as this may sound, sometimes infertility has its advantages. Infertile people don't have worry about contraception. Take the birth control pill.... because I sure as hell can't!!!

My new protocol involves taking the pill for a month. I am 7 days in and I am a bitch, a horrible, nasty, angry witch who'd bite heads off chickens! I have to keep my mouth shut tight in case the nasty thoughts in my head actually make their way out. All I want to do is curl up in a ball and bawl. I have a thumping headache and the startings of a cold which don't help either, but I know its mostly due to the pill.

I remember when I moved in with my first husband I started taking the pill, and I think I lasted a similar amount of time before he threw them out and told me not to take them ever again. The change in my mood was so dramatic. I took it again for a few months when I first started seeing my DH, but I don't remember any adverse reactions then.

I hope this is temporary, or this cycle will have to be cancelled. HELP! Any ideas? Vitamin B maybe? St Johns Wort? Crystal m.eth? :0(

I had a terrible time on the pill too. I'll take Lupron, any heavy duty injectible IVF drug before I'll take the pill. Sigh. I wish I had good advice. I think it gets better as your "cycle" -whatever that means on the pill - progresses. I got my doctors to skip the pill part, just used Lupron to suppress my ovaries. what are they worrying I'll get pREGNANT? too ironic.

I hated the month I was on the pill also for our IVF cycle. I was a raging bitch. I hope it goes by quickly for you and the crystal me.th comment has me laughing!

The BCPs were one of the worst part of the IVF treatment. They not only made me a bitch but they made me sick too. I don't know what to tell you except to hang in there because I noticed after about 2 weeks the symptoms lightened up a bit. Good luck!

Gah, I just rode that month of my cycle out. I agree, avoiding BCP and other contraceptives is definitely an advantage of dealing with IF - except in ironic cases like this when you are actually taking it to get pregnant!

Wow. I've never been on BCP's before. I hope that this doesn't last too long for you. Isn't it ironic how we try not to get pregnant for so long just to go through IF in the end?

Oh, I hear you I HEAR YOU!!!! BCPs are evil and must be stopped at all costs.

"It's only for a month" was my mantra, but fuck it was awful. Mr TC was scared of me. "Who are you, and what have you done with my wife??"
